Elizabeth Tate
Vice President of Sustainability Transformation, Clarios
Elizabeth Tate is Vice President of Sustainability Transformation at Clarios, where she draws on more than 15 years of experience to advise clients on business, government and political developments and related risks and opportunities. She offers client a breadth of experience on government and public affairs strategies, sustainability issues, business strategy, and political risk and opportunity management.
Most recently, Ms. Tate advised two start-up companies on sustainability strategy and alignment with emerging ESG and clean energy regulations in the United States and European Union. Previously, Ms. Tate worked at a leading company in the battery technology sector, and led the creation of a major public-private partnership. In that role she worked to advance policies on the circular economy and the critical minerals supply chain, as well as serving as a member of the Global Battery Alliance’s steering committee.
Previously, Ms. Tate held executive positions at a major industrial conglomerate, where she led the development of a new corporate sustainability strategy. She also worked as Senior Policy Director at the Alliance to Save Energy, where she led the formation of a partnership with the Department of Energy and the Council on Competitiveness. Ms. Tate began her D.C. career as counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology, where she was involved with the Rare Earths and Critical Materials Revitalization Act, the NASA Authorization Act of 2010, and the Nuclear Energy Research and Development Act. She began her career as an attorney at a leading New York law firm, where she specialized in Environmental and Land Use Law.
Ms. Tate holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, and a Certificate of Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School of Business.
