Ukraine: Growing Biofuels On Polluted Land

Pure Earth is assessing a project to grow biofuel crops on contaminated land in an attempt to find safe, profitable ways to use polluted sites. This effort is in partnership with the FORBIO project, which seeks to assess the sustainable bioenergy production potential of  “underutilized lands” (contaminated, abandoned, marginal, fallow land etc.). The project will produce multiple feasibility studies in selected case study locations in three countries: Ukraine, Germany and Italy.
