The Pure Earth program and management team recently concluded a three-day retreat at a donated vacation home in coastal Maine. There was much to plan as Pure Earth received a new grant and a renewal from a previous funder.
In addition, our Campaign for 10 Million Lives, which is raising $10 million from private donors, provides critical funds to fill in the programmatic gaps that these grants don’t support for a variety a reasons, ranging from geographic restrictions to specific remediation activities.
We will be working in 30 countries in the next three years identifying contaminated sites that are threatening human health and implementing solutions. Our teams will be devising cleanup plans, working alongside host governments and training them in remediation methods, which builds capacity to expand environmental efforts independently.
