Preventing and reducing the adverse effects of lead exposure that is harmful to the environment and health, especially for children, is a commitment that Yayasan Pure Earth (PE) Indonesia continues to maintain. This commitment includes continuing to intervene in research efforts, technical interventions, policy recommendations, public education to capacity building.

Recently PE Indonesia together with the Occupational and Environmental Health Research Center (OEHRC) IMERI Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI) conducted a blood lead assessment (KTD) study and home-based analysis in various regions in Java Island in May – August 2023.

OEHRC IMERI FKUI and PE Indonesia also conducted a series of educational and advocacy activities to various stakeholders about the KTD 2023 study results. The support of the press in educating the public is of course very helpful in disseminating accurate information to more people.

Our hope is of course that more people can be saved and more parties are willing to collaborate to move together to make various changes in tackling the dangers of lead poisoning for health and the environment.

Check out the press coverage of lead hazards and the results of the blood lead study and home-based assessment that we conducted with the FKUI team in Jawa Pos, Kompas.com, CNBC Indonesia, Republika, Liputan6.com, IDNTimes, and many others.
